Driver dispatch & seasonal notes
Nov-Mar: I-80, I-90, I-94, and northern-tier US routes get chain-law watch. Drivers plan winter lodging around known-safe truck stops.
Jun-Sep: Southwest and Gulf drivers start pre-dawn to protect DEF systems and tire pressures. Hurricane season may pause coastal dispatch.
Coast-to-coast averages 4-6 days depending on HOS regs (11-hour drive / 14-hour clock) and driver hand-off vs single-driver assignment.
CDL, endorsements & driver credentials
Class A required for tractor + trailer > 26,001 lb GCWR. Class B for straight trucks (boxes, dumps) over 26,001 lb GVWR.
All 50 states honor a valid CDL issued by any other state under 49 CFR Part 383. Endorsements (H, N, P, S, T, X) transfer.
Federal DOT medical card (49 CFR 391.41) required. Drivers carry electronic ELD logs and current MVR.
Driveaway drivers operate under bonded commercial liability + cargo coverage while operating your vehicle.
