About Commercial Truck Driveaway
Commercial truck driveaway is professional-driver delivery for Class 3-8 commercial vehicles that are legal for over-the-road operation. The assigned driver holds the license class the vehicle requires (CDL A, CDL B, or non-CDL depending on GVWR and configuration), documents the vehicle at pickup, follows a planned interstate route, and returns a signed delivery inspection.
Common commercial truck driveaway use cases
- Dealer inventory transfers
- Upfitter to end-user delivery
- Business-to-business unit transfers
- Fleet reassignment
- Auction release delivery
What's included
- Vehicle-specific driver matching by license class
- Documented pickup and delivery inspections
- Interstate route coordination
- Single-point dispatch across all 50 states
- No trailer loading required for eligible units
How pricing works
Commercial truck driveaway pricing depends on road miles, license class, vehicle size, fuel and toll allowances, driver deadhead to origin, return travel, and urgency. Non-roadworthy or unregistered units are not eligible - use trailer-based transport instead.
Preparing your vehicle for driveaway
- 1Confirm the vehicle is legal for over-the-road operation
- 2Identify the required license class based on GVWR and configuration
- 3Secure tools, accessories, and loose equipment inside the vehicle
- 4Provide current registration and any trip permits
- 5Coordinate commercial-site pickup and delivery hours
When commercial truck driveaway is NOT the right service
- ×Non-running or mechanically restricted vehicles
- ×Vehicles missing valid operating documentation
- ×New or low-mileage inventory when added miles are unacceptable
Commercial Truck Driveaway - FAQs
How is commercial truck driveaway different from semi-truck driveaway?
The service model is identical - a qualified driver operates the vehicle - but commercial truck driveaway covers straight trucks, box trucks, service vehicles, and other Class 3-7 units instead of Class 8 tractors.
